Brotherhood Bistro (Skala)

Brotherhood Bistro was born from a simple but powerful idea: to create a warm, welcoming spot in Skala that would stay open all year—a place where locals and visitors could eat, drink, gather, and feel genuinely at home.

Five years ago, while Valia was pregnant with their daughter and temporarily living in Athens, she and Spyros heard that a small space on Skala’s main pedestrian street had become available. Spyros, who grew up surrounded by food and hospitality, had always dreamed of opening a place that served honest, quality dishes made with love. He inherited this passion from his father—who today is the head cook at Brotherhood, passing down flavours, knowledge, and the “cooking bug” that Spyros carries with him.
At the time, the village was missing exactly what they envisioned: a bistro that stayed open both winter and summer. Most businesses closed in the quieter months, but Brotherhood chose to bring life to the street all year long. And in winter, it truly does—glowing from within while the village settles into its slow season.
The name “Brotherhood” has its own amusing origin. The bistro was originally opened by Spyros and his brothers. Today, Brotherhood is run by Spyros, Valia, his brother, and their father—a true family effort through and through. Everything served here is made with care, soul, and genuine love.
In winter, Brotherhood becomes something unique: a cosy gathering point where locals meet to watch football and basketball on the big screen, and for a few hours the bistro transforms into a classic English pub—just with a Greek twist and the warm hospitality Skala is known for.
In summer, its doors open to travellers from all over the world. The menu expands to offer a wide variety of breakfasts and brunch dishes—including a proper English breakfast—so visitors can feel at home while discovering Greek flavours and friendliness.
As for the food:
-
The pizzas and burgers are absolute favourites.
-
The signature cocktails are loved by both locals and tourists.
-
In winter, the brunch menu stays simple with just omelettes, as the kitchen opens from midday until 22:30.
But what truly defines Brotherhood is the people behind it.
Valia and Spyros are young, hardworking, kind-hearted, and deeply committed to offering the best possible experience. They treat every guest with warmth, respect, and sincerity. And something they are very proud of: Brotherhood is a discrimination-free space where everyone is welcome.

Brotherhood Bistro is more than a place to eat. It’s where the village gathers, where families meet, where friendships begin, where visitors feel instantly at ease—and where every plate carries a piece of the people who prepare it.
